Chinaman Gulch Run

May 8, 2010

Bronco heading up Chinaman Gulch Colorado

Hit one of the local trails near Buena Vista for a shakedown run with my new gear, lost power steering, bent all the front steering linkage and bashed in a few body panels.. but nothing serious! Next run will be better…

Finally did a quick run offroad with the Bronco the other day, flexed it’s suspension a bit and it was a good run with the new bumpers!

Bronco gets a Facelift

February 7, 2010

Finally got around to putting the new front bumper and sliders on… looks pretty sweet! The steps on the sliders are removable which are even cooler! Can’t wait to test them out.. they are pretty beefy and solid.

You can check out the installation and more pics of the bumpers and sliders here!

Mt Evans test Drive

February 2, 2010

I have been troubleshooting the bronco for so long now i haven’t even had a chance to test drive it so decided to try it out this last weekend.  I took it on a small loop up through Mt Evans and Idaho Springs on Saturday and shot a few pics here and there. What looks like a sky run is actually Echo Mountain ski area, which is pretty darn small!

Here are some quick pics.

The Stanley Hotel and Jenni’s Birthday!

January 29, 2010

For once i actually  surprised Jenni with something. We headed off to the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park Colorado for her birthday, she didnt’ know until we pulled up to the parking lot! My ruse was heading off to Steamboat and I told her we were going a different way because of the weather… We had a fantastic romantic and quiet weekend, really a welcome respite to our busy schedules and from the holiday bustle.

The hotel is famous for the movie The Shining, by Stephen King – I guess you can say its their thing. Apprently Stephen King was inspired by the hotel while he was staying there and changed the story based on a winter hotel rather then an amusement park. They show the movie 24 hours a day on channel 42 as well as Jay Leno driving a Stanley Steamer on channel 43, some funny stuff. The place is pretty old, actually its  about the same age as our house at 100 years (built in 1909 or so), so being as large as it is and “quaint” it gets kinda spooky around the place at night.

Geeese and ducks at wash park

Every-time i go to the gym at Wash Park there are hundreds of geese and ducks lingering around waiting for the woman who passes out bread from her car. She sits here with her lights on and stands in the middle of these birds and feeds them, just to the right there is a sign that says, Please don’t feed the ducks and geese – go figure… anyway I pulled up last night and it was like wild kingdom minus the Mutual of Omaha sponsorship.

December 31, 2009

The three banditios

Someone had a bright idea of a pub crawl though Cherry Creek on New Years day… well it was fun but not sure if we are welcome very many places after that disaster… yes it was be silly and dress up day, at least for some of us. Needless to say i was in bed by 9:30pm to someones chagrin… fun times…
