Hit one of the local trails near Buena Vista for a shakedown run with my new gear, lost power steering, bent all the front steering linkage and bashed in a few body panels.. but nothing serious! Next run will be better…

Finally did a quick run offroad with the Bronco the other day, flexed it’s suspension a bit and it was a good run with the new bumpers!

Great fun at steamboat for the weekend with the Tweardy’s! Thanks for the fun and the sun!

For once i actually  surprised Jenni with something. We headed off to the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park Colorado for her birthday, she didnt’ know until we pulled up to the parking lot! My ruse was heading off to Steamboat and I told her we were going a different way because of the weather… We had a fantastic romantic and quiet weekend, really a welcome respite to our busy schedules and from the holiday bustle.

The hotel is famous for the movie The Shining, by Stephen King – I guess you can say its their thing. Apprently Stephen King was inspired by the hotel while he was staying there and changed the story based on a winter hotel rather then an amusement park. They show the movie 24 hours a day on channel 42 as well as Jay Leno driving a Stanley Steamer on channel 43, some funny stuff. The place is pretty old, actually its  about the same age as our house at 100 years (built in 1909 or so), so being as large as it is and “quaint” it gets kinda spooky around the place at night.

Sarah, Nathan and I head off to Winter Park for some slope time!

WOW – what a great trip, everyday was a perfect day and Jenni and I had  fantastic time! Meeting up with friends was allot of fun as well as was just sitting on the beach and doing NOTHING…

Gage and I headed up to the mountain for a day in the sun on the slopes, mountain is HUGE with lots of extreme terrian, going to have to come back when there is more poweder to explore the upper mountain, anyway more photos after the break – Enjoy!

Jenni and I made a trip to Pittsburgh to visit our friends John and Lisa and to see a bit more of the city in the fall, and we weren’t disappointed! Dinosaurs, great food, superb weather, excellent college football (Pittsburgh University vs. Iowa) and hanging out with friends really brought out the best of Pittsburgh.

Ya that’s a T-Rex, they not only the most complete skeleton of a Tyrannosaurus Rex, but the Carnegie Museum of Natural History has TWO of them, pretty impressive. Its definitely a must see experience if you are in town!
